Dear Families, Faculty, and Staff,
We hope you are warm and well. Our team has been carefully evaluating road and weather conditions this morning. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the western portion of Hanover County and snow has started to accumulate, creating hazardous road conditions on roadways for our buses, student drivers, staff, and parents.
As a precaution and to allow our team sufficient time to fully assess travel conditions, our facilities, and our buses,
HCPS will be opening on a two-hour delay on Friday, January 19. Custodial and maintenance staff please report on time.
Please note that
a two-hour delay is intended to allow HCPS staff additional time to further assess conditions and make a final determination on whether or not to open the school division. We will communicate any additional closings or delays that may be necessary as quickly as possible so you can begin making the necessary arrangements for your student.
We understand this is disruptive and sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to make the best possible decisions for our students and staff.
