Dear Families, Faculty, and Staff,
We hope you are well. We are writing today to keep you informed regarding the search for a new Superintendent of Schools.
At its August meeting, the School Board unanimously approved the use of a third-party vendor to assist the Board throughout the selection process, a common practice for superintendent searches across the country. The Request for Proposal for the vendor will be posted later today.
At its meeting on Tuesday, the School Board further discussed the selection process and timeline for the hiring of the next Superintendent of Schools.
Please note the following:
- The School Board anticipates awarding a contract to the third-party vendor in November. Board members Karen Lynne of the Ashland District and Whitney Welsh of the Henry District have worked with school division and county administration to solidify the requirements of the Request for Proposal that will be issued today.
- Recognizing the importance of community engagement in this process, opportunities for you to provide input are expected to be offered in advance of the January 2025 opening of applications for the Superintendent of Schools position. More information on those opportunities will be shared as they become available.
- The School Board anticipates voting on the new Superintendent of Schools in April 2025.
