Inclement Weather Update: Dec. 7, 2025
Dear Families, Faculty, and Staff,
We hope you are warm and well. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Hanover County from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow with snow expected across our county throughout the day, impacting both the morning and afternoon/evening commutes. Additionally, below freezing temperatures are forecasted, allowing snow to accumulate. This is expected to create hazardous travel conditions for our buses, student drivers, staff, and families.
As a result,
HCPS will be CLOSED on Monday, December 8. Employees use Code 6. At the earliest possible time, only designated personnel report to work. All other employees work remotely as able.
Please note that
all after-school activities and events are canceled for Monday, December 8. We will communicate any further delays or closures that may be necessary as quickly as possible.
We understand this is disruptive and sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to make the best possible decisions for our students and staff. We hope that sharing this information well in advance is helpful to you as you begin to make the necessary arrangements.
