Full Message/Details
Dear Families, Faculty, and Staff,
We hope you are well. We are writing to provide you with an update on the boundary adjustment process.
At both its work session and its business meeting yesterday, the Hanover County School Board discussed the boundary adjustment process as part of its ongoing effort to serve students in facilities that are used in the most effective and efficient way possible.
Specifically, please note the following with regard to yesterday’s meetings:
- The School Board unanimously approved the Board workgroup’s recommendation to delay implementation of initial boundary modifications until the fall of the 2026-27 school year. This means that
our current school boundaries will remain unchanged for the 2025-26 school year.
- The School Board received the workgroup’s recommendation of
the Green Scenario. Please note that the recommendation is the original Green Scenario and does
not include the additional changes in the western corridor (e.g., Country Club Hills and surrounding areas) that were discussed at last month’s workgroup meetings.
- The Green Scenario will be presented as an action item at the April 8 business meeting.
- The School Board also unanimously voted to have school division administration develop an implementation framework for the Board’s consideration.
The presentation from yesterday’s meetings can be found
on BoardDocs and the recording of last night’s business meeting can be found
here (the presentation begins at 4:01:50 and the votes begin at 5:59:00).
We continue to value the input and engagement of our community throughout this process. Please be assured that
we will continue to accept responses through our designated boundary adjustment input form through the duration of this process. Completing this form ensures your input is collected and shared with School Board members.
As always, we recommend that you visit our boundary adjustment webpage for more information on this important process.
Thank you.
