Dear Families,
I hope you are having a great week. I am writing today to share more information with you about transportation service for the 2022-23 school year.
While we still have several weeks left in this school year, our team is already planning for the upcoming school year and we need your help.
To help us plan the most efficient routes possible while not restricting service, please carefully review the below options that apply to your family and follow the steps provided.
All transportation service requests must be submitted by Friday, June 10.
My student currently receives transportation service and will need service next year
1) Log in to
PowerSchool (review
this document for more information on logging in).
2) Visit your student’s PowerSchool page.
3) Click on transportation on your student’s PowerSchool page (bus icon on the bottom left-hand side).
4) If your student has a bus assignment in PowerSchool, they are considered pre-registered for transportation service for the 2022-23 school year and you do not need to do anything further. These students will be provided home-to-school-to-home services based on your current address (if you move over the summer, please update your information with your school and submit a transportation request via
this form).
5) If your student does not have a bus assignment in PowerSchool, please complete
this form.
My student currently receives transportation service and they do not need it next year
- Please complete
this form to decline transportation service for next school year.
My student currently does not receive transportation service and will need service next year
- Please complete
this form to request transportation service for next school year.
My student currently does not receive transportation service and they do not need it next year
- You do not need to do anything further if this is your choice.
In addition to the above steps, please note the following:

If your student currently receives transportation service to an after-school program or daycare facility, you must submit an Alternate Bus Stop Request via
this form. These requests are reviewed annually. All requests for morning or evening changes must be for all five days of the school week. Additionally, please note that we can only accommodate an Alternate Bus Stop Request if there is space available on an existing bus route.

If you are submitting an Alternate Bus Stop Request for a student who will be a kindergartener, first grader, or second grader next year, you must complete and submit
this form to the Transportation Department by either mailing the form to HCPS Department of Transportation, 11375 N. Lakeridge Pkwy, Ashland, VA 23005, or return it to your child’s home school.

Families of students who have special education transportation identified in their IEP and require specialized transportation services must still reach out to their school to initiate the process of setting up Special Transportation Services.

If your student attends a specialty program or specialty school such as ACA, the Health Sciences Specialty Center, or CodeRVA, you must submit a transportation request using
this form.
As a reminder, all transportation requests for next school year must be submitted by Friday, June 10. For more information, please visit
the transportation webpage on the HCPS website.

Mientras todavía nos quedan varias semanas en este año escolar, nuestro equipo ya está planeando para el próximo año escolar y necesitamos su ayuda.
Para ayudarnos a planificar las rutas más eficientes posibles sin restringir el servicio, por favor revise cuidadosamente las opciones a continuación que se aplican a su familia y siga los pasos proporcionados.
Todas las solicitudes de servicio de transporte deben enviarse antes del viernes, 10 de junio.

1) Inicie sesión en
PowerSchool (revise

2) Visite la página de PowerSchool de su estudiante.
3) Haga clic en transporte en la página de PowerSchool de su estudiante (icono de autobús en la parte de abajo a la izquierda).
4) Si su estudiante tiene una asignación de autobús en PowerSchool, se considera que está preinscrito para el servicio de transporte para el año escolar 2022-23 y no necesita hacer nada más. A estos estudiantes se les proporcionarán servicios de la casa a la escuela y a la casa según su dirección actual (si se muda durante el verano, actualice su información con su escuela y envíe una solicitud de transporte
a través de este formulario).
5) Si su estudiante no tiene una asignación de autobús en PowerSchool, por favor rellene
este formulario.

- No necesita hacer nada más si esta es su elección.
Además de los pasos anteriores, tenga en cuenta lo siguiente:
- Si su estudiante actualmente recibe servicios de transporte a un programa después de la escuela o guardería, debe enviar una Solicitud de Parada Alternativa de Autobús a través de
este formulario. Estas solicitudes se revisan anualmente. Todas las solicitudes de cambios de la mañana o de la tarde deben ser para los cinco días de la semana escolar. Además, tenga en cuenta que solo podemos acomodar una Solicitud de Parada Alternativa de Autobús si hay espacio disponible en una ruta de autobús existente.
- Si está enviando una Solicitud de Parada Alternativa de Autobús para un estudiante que estará en Kínder, primer grado, o segundo grado el próximo año, debe llenar y enviar
este formulario al Departamento de Transporte a la dirección de Departamento de Transporte de HCPS, 11375 N. Lakeridge Pkwy, Ashland, VA 23005, o con devolverlo a la escuela de su hijo/a.
- Las familias de estudiantes que tienen transporte de educación especial identificado en su IEP, (Programa Individualizado de Educación, por sus siglas en inglés) y que requieren servicios de transporte especializados aún deben comunicarse con su escuela para iniciar el proceso de establecer Servicios Especiales de Transporte.
- Si su hijo/a asiste a un programa especializado o una escuela especializada como ACA, el Centro de Especialidades en Ciencias de la Salud, o CodeRVA, debe enviar una solicitud de transporte utilizando
este formulario.
Como recordatorio, todas las solicitudes de transporte para el próximo año escolar deben enviarse antes del viernes 10 de junio. Para más información, por favor visite
la página web de transporte en el sitio web de HCPS.
