- We continue to expand implementation of ParentSquare – a modern, easy-to-use, and one-stop-shop for families to receive communication from HCPS and our schools.
- Teachers across HCPS will begin using ParentSquare this school year, meaning families will receive all school and classroom messages in one place!
- We strongly encourage you to review your account settings, including your notification and language preferences, prior to the start of the school year. As a reminder, you can receive a 6 p.m. digest for communications that are not urgent to be sent to you at the end of the day versus instantly throughout the day.

Dear Families,

We hope you had a great weekend. We are writing to share with you an exciting update regarding our usage of ParentSquare.

As you know, last school year we began using ParentSquare, a unified communications platform that is designed to keep families informed in a simple, accessible, and engaging way. The purpose of ParentSquare is to provide a more modern, easy-to-use, and one-stop-shop for families where you can receive communication from HCPS and our schools.

Beginning this school year, teachers across HCPS will begin using ParentSquare this school year, meaning you’ll receive all division, school, and classroom messages in one place!

Please note the following:

- Family members who have custody of an HCPS student – as marked in PowerSchool – automatically receive accounts using their preferred email address and phone number that is listed in PowerSchool. Please contact your school’s registrar if changes are needed for your student’s information in PowerSchool.
- You will be automatically added to your student’s classes for communication.
- We will continue to use ParentSquare for transportation, attendance, and meal balance notifications.
- Here is a helpful video for you to watch for an overview of ParentSquare.

In your ParentSquare account, we strongly encourage you to review the following by clicking “My Account” under your name in the top right corner:

- Your notification settings: Select how you would like to receive messages from your school (via email, text, and/or app notifications). The digest setting allows all non-urgent school communications to be sent to you at the end of the day beginning at 6 p.m. rather than instantly throughout the day. We believe the digest option will be especially helpful for families as our teachers use this platform.
- Your language settings: ParentSquare communications automatically translate to your preferred language.

We also highly recommend that you download the ParentSquare app (App Store | Google Play). You can also access ParentSquare from your web browser at https://www.parentsquare.com/signin.
