Full Message/Details

Dear Families,

We hope you are safe and warm. We are writing to provide more information on tomorrow’s Remote Learning Day.

As we shared with you earlier, tomorrow’s school closure, which we announced a short time ago, is the ninth inclement weather day of the school year. As outlined in our inclement weather day chart, tomorrow (Wednesday, February 19) will be a Remote Learning Day across the school division. If you have not done so already, we strongly encourage you to read our previous messages regarding inclement weather days and the school calendar.

We recognize the impact the Remote Learning Day may have on your family. Please be assured that across the school division, we are emphasizing the importance of flexibility in this Remote Learning Day. We appreciate you practicing the same patience, grace, and kindness that helped us successfully navigate recent school years.

Teachers will be available for email communication with students and/or parents. Contact information can be found in the HCPS employee directory.

Please be assured that we will be flexible in when the work is turned in as we recognize that you and your family may face challenges related to the inclement weather.

Middle and High School

Middle and high school students will follow an A day schedule and access lessons to work on independently in Schoology. Please note that if a Remote Learning Day is necessary on Friday, it would be a B day. While no decisions have been made regarding additional school closures, we hope this is helpful.

We recognize that some students may not have Wi-Fi access. Please know that in the spirit of flexibility, due dates for assignments will be flexible to accommodate students without Wi-Fi access and ensure they can complete their assignments.

We greatly appreciate your flexibility, patience, grace, and kindness as we collectively work to ensure that our students receive instruction and support.

Thank you.
