Inclement Weather Update: Feb. 10, 2025

Dear Families, Faculty, and Staff,
Our team is closely monitoring the forecasted inclement weather that is expected to impact Hanover County beginning tomorrow morning. A Winter Storm Warning takes effect for Hanover County at 8 a.m. tomorrow, and the Governor has declared a state of emergency in advance of the snow, freezing rain, and sleet that are forecasted to cause hazardous driving conditions. This includes for our buses, student drivers, families, and staff.
As a result, HCPS will be CLOSED on Tuesday, February 11. Employees use Code 6. At the earliest possible time, only designated personnel report to work. All other employees work remotely as able.
We understand this is disruptive and sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to make the best possible decisions for our students and staff. We hope that sharing this information well in advance is helpful to you as you begin to make the necessary arrangements.
As
we shared with you last month,
this school closure will impact the 2024-25 school calendar. Specifically, Tuesday, May 27 and Wednesday, May 28 are now full instructional days. More information regarding the 2024-25 calendar and school closures will be shared soon.
Additionally, please note that
the Hanover County School Board work session and monthly business meeting scheduled for Tuesday have been postponed. More information will be shared soon regarding the rescheduled meeting.
