Welcome to the Clinic Page
Mrs. Amos, RN, WHES Nurse

Welcome to the WHES clinic.  Please call me in the clinic at 723-2303 if your child will be absent from school for any reason.   If your child is sick, please let me know with what illness so I can have an idea of the illnesses that are going around our school.  when returning to school after an illness, children should be free of fever, below 100.0 without medications, for 24 hours.  Also, I can administer medications to your child while at school as long as a parent brings in the medication and completes a medication administration form.  Refer to the medication policy in the county's student handbook.  Please call me if you have any questions or concerns about these policies.

Most viruses and bacterial infections are spread at school because our children are in close contact and sneezing or coughing near each other.  Please encourage your child to cover their nose and mouth, preferably  with a tissue, when coughing or sneezing and placing the dirty tissue in the trash can.  Using their hand or shirt sleeve is also better than not covering at all.  Washing their hands after coughing and sneezing is most important.  Hand sanitizer can be used if soap and water are not available.

Encourage your child to make good food choices and remain active.  Our school is increasing our awareness of good nutrition and fitness by doing classroom activities as well as school wide activities to promote better health habits.  Keep your eyes and ears open for these fun activities and ask your child about them.  Also, do family activities at home that encourage movement and make healthier food choices with and for your child.
