   IEP Toolkit

  Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm
  at Oak Knoll Middle School  (come in the main entrance by the office NOT the cafeteria)

This workshop will help you better understand your child's Individualized Education Plan 
  (IEP). We will discuss every part of the IEP, how you can play a more active role on the
  IEP team, what do all those acronyms mean, we'll explain IDEA...your rights and
  responsibilities, present level of performance and why it matters, and much more...

Directions to the PRC

  Do you keep hearing about all of the great things you can do on your electronic
  devices but you donít know how to find them OR use them? We are here to help!
  This is a hands-on experience -
bring in your childís device (iPAD, Smartphone, laptop) and
will help you locate, load and use tools to help your child with communication, reading,
  math, social skills and more.
  Plus, we'll actually have a few appetizers for you to enjoy :)




RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED for all workshops. You can RSVP by contacting the Parent Resource Center at 365-4596 or by e-mail at hanoverprc@hcps.us. This helps us plan for materials, refreshments and to be able to notify you of any possible changes.

 For Your Information

VA Hearing Journey is a monthly networking group that supports the entire family by offering parent information from subject matter experts, a focused sibling session and fun activities for your deaf/hard of hearing child(ren). All Hearing Modalities Are Welcome! Child care is provided and Sign Language and Spanish interpreters available.

Eagle's Nest is a support/small group for parents of children with disabilities at Woolridge Road Church. Call Tammy Burns for more info at 804-639-4777

Richmond Asperger Group is a support group for parents of children with Asperger Syndrome. They meet monthly at the River City Diner on Parham and I-95, from 7-9pm in the evening. Meetings are for adults with AS, parents and children over age 10, for support, discussion, education, parent advocacy and adult self-advocacy.

Autism Society, Central Virginia Chapter is a non-profit organization that provides monthly meetings, workshops, a lending library, advocacy and support to families, adults and professionals.
