           News & Announcements

Another exciting school year is about to start here at WHES!  Your teachers, administrators, instructional aides and PTA members are already busy getting everything ready for us to Dive Into Learning!  Kindergarten orientation is Wednesday, September 2nd at 5:00-6:00.  You will be presented with general information about Kindergarten and then given your teacher assignments.  Please bring your student's supplies with you that evening so that they are not burdened with these items the first day of school.  We look forward to seeing the rest of the students at Open House on Thursday, September 3rd.  New students to WHES, you are invited to come to a social in your honor at 3:00, then an orientation and tour of the building by our current students at 3:30.  Then, if your name begins with the letter L-Z, please join us at 4:00 to find out your teacher assignment and drop off your supplies.  Students with last names beginning with A-K can join us at 5:00 for the very same thing.  As always if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Donaldson, our school counselor, at 723-2308 or sdonaldson@hcps.us!

Can't wait to Dive Into a Great Year at WHES!

I am super excited to introduce our school counseling blog page.  Take a look at it as often as you want for more information about what is happening in the WHES School Counseling Department.  Here is the link:

The mission of the WHES school counseling department is to support learning by advocating and collaborating with staff  in a caring fashion, as well as sharing with families the task of nurturing healthy, lifelong learners.  This is accomplished by delivering a comprehensive, developmental, data driven program addressing the academic, personal/social needs of all students.  Student's needs are addressed through classroom guidance classes as well as small group and individual counseling.
