ASHLAND, Va. – Beaverdam Elementary School (BES) and Cool Spring Elementary School (CSES) have been named as 2018-2020 National PTA Schools of Excellence. They are two of only 278 schools and PTAs across the nation to achieve this prestigious status this year.

"Over the last few years, a core group of dedicated parents worked hard to provide significant support to Beaverdam. Their efforts inspired more parents to become a part of the PTA. We are so fortunate to have such a supportive PTA and community," said Chip Joseph, Principal.

"The Beaverdam PTA is excited to be recognized for our accomplishments this past year. We are fortunate to have a cohesive team of parents, administration, staff, and community members working toward common goals: to foster learning, celebrate successes, improve our school, and have fun! We are honored to share this recognition with our Beaverdam community," said Gloria Marotta, PTA President.

Dr. Paula Brown, CSES Principal, also expressed her gratitude. "We thank our PTA for all of their support in helping us foster strong family and school partnerships. This recognition is due to our PTA’s dedication and commitment to the needs of our school, our community, and our families. Each day, our school is supported by parent and community volunteers," said Dr. Brown.

Amanda Kronenberg, CSES PTA President, added, "The PTA is one piece of the puzzle. We could not accomplish anything without the support of the teachers, administration, and staff of CSES."

The National PTA School of Excellence designation recognizes the commitment of schools and PTAs in building an inclusive and welcoming school-community where all families contribute to enriching the educational experience and overall well-being for all students.
