Elmont's library actively supports the computer software program, ReadnQuiz. Students read specific books and then complete a computerized multiple choice test. Points are awarded on the basis of percentage of questions correct.

Students are recognized for outstanding achievement in ReadnQuiz. Goals are established for each grade. At the end of the first and second semesters, special events are held which recognize students at point levels designated as mid-year or goal 4.

The Elmont library is open from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 daily. Students in grades 2, 3, 4 or 5 accompanied by parents may take tests in the library from 7:30-7:45 and from 2:30-2:45. Testing cannot be done in the library on Wednesdays due to staff meetings, and occasionally other meetings cause additional library closures in the afternoons.
