In addition, Mrs. Brown organizes and leads the following reading programs to boost student achievement in the area of reading.

Reading Resource Programs:

Book Buddies
Book Buddies is a one-on-one program whereby trained volunteers (often students from Lee Davis and Stonewall) work with BPES students twice weekly before school hours. These 30 minute lessons develop reading skills through the re-reading of familiar books, word study, writing, and new readings.

SOL Tutorial Program
The SOL Tutorial Program provides supplementary instruction for at-risk students in the areas of reading and math at SOL targeted grades. Other areas of focus include study skills and test-taking skills. Students are recommended for this program based on test data and/or through teacher recommendations.
